Welcome to the 2023 Hunter's Creek Elementary Open House. We are sorry you were unable to join us in person. You can use the links below to view the presentation from your child's teacher. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
One focus we have this year is on the Science of Reading at all grade levels. Below, you will find a graphic with a brief explanation of the Science of Reading. Research shows that families who incorporate daily reading opportunities at home, and families that support their children with reading, experience increased student achievement. I encourage you to take time to read with your child(ren) daily.
Additionally, OCPS has implemented a new cell phone policy, prohibiting the possession and use of cell phones during the academic day. A link to the new OCPS Cell Phone Policy is below to provide additional information about the policy.
This year, OCPS has also implemented a new two-way communication tool called TalkingPoints. This is a great way for teachers and parents to communicate about your child's education.
We are always looking for volunteers to help out around campus, especially in our cafeteria during lunch. If you wish to volunteer at HCES, please sign up to be an ADDitions Volunteer, and feel free to reach out to me for additional information.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bradley Martin
Principal
