The Learning Continues After the School Day Ends
The students at Hunter’s Creek Elementary do not stop learning when the final bell rings. Our afterschool programs allow students to participate in academic and extracurricular enrichment activities and to develop new hobbies and skills. Community-based organizations provide a variety of unique programming options to students. Programs will include Drama, Chess, Guitar, KidzArt, and Piano. Participation in high-quality afterschool programs has shown improvement in school attendance, academic achievement, and attitudes toward learning.
KidzArt allows our students to explore their artistic ability and if they do not have it inside of them waiting to explode, then the amazingly patient instructors teach them how to draw, paint, and sketch. Research proves that students who participate in the Arts rise to academic success. We also offer guitar lessons. Next Step Educators provides opportunities for beginners to learn and expand the knowledge of our seasoned guitarists.
If you prefer outdoor activities, then Junior Golf, is the program for you. The slow-paced instruction of golf offers opportunities for children to be introduced to a popular sport and gives those with experience. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Finally, our Chess program challenges the critical thinking and problem-solving attributes and culminates with an end of the year Chess Tournament.
