Specials
Welcome to Specials
Welcome to a new school year! We are excited to introduce ourselves as the Hunter's Creek Elementary Specials Team and look forward to working with your children throughout the year. Our team consists of Physical Education (PE), Music, and Art teachers who are dedicated to helping students grow creatively, physically, and socially while having fun and building lifelong skills.
In Physical Education, students will develop movement skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy habits through a variety of activities and games. We encourage all students to come prepared to participate safely by wearing appropriate footwear and clothing on PE days.
In Music, students will explore rhythm, melody, singing, movement, instruments, and musical creativity. Throughout the year, they will have opportunities to build confidence, express themselves, and develop an appreciation for different styles of music and cultures.
In Art, students will engage in hands-on creative experiences that encourage imagination, problem-solving, and self-expression. They will explore a variety of artistic techniques, materials, and artists while creating unique works of art.
Our goal is to provide a positive, engaging environment where every student feels encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed. We believe that the Specials classes play an important role in developing well-rounded learners and helping students discover their individual talents and interests.
We value the partnership between school and home and encourage you to support your child's learning by asking about their experiences in PE, Music, and Art. We look forward to sharing their accomplishments and celebrating their growth throughout the year.
Thank you for your support. We are excited for a fantastic school year filled with creativity, movement, music, and learning!
Sincerely,
The Hunter's Creek Elementary Specials Team

The Music Program at Hunter's Creek Elementary School provides students with engaging and meaningful musical experiences that support creativity, collaboration, and lifelong appreciation of the arts. Instruction is aligned with the Florida Department of Education's Fine Arts Standards through CPALMS and is designed to develop students' musical knowledge, skills, and understanding.
Students in grades K–5 participate in general music classes where they explore the foundational elements of music, including rhythm, melody, harmony, form, expression, and movement. Through singing, playing instruments, creating, responding to, and connecting with music, students develop artistic literacy while strengthening critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
The curriculum emphasizes the four artistic processes outlined in Florida's Fine Arts Standards: Creating, Performing, Responding, and Connecting. Students engage in a variety of learning experiences that may include vocal performance, classroom instruments, music literacy, movement activities, composition, improvisation, cultural and historical music studies, and technology-based music exploration.
In addition to the general music program, Hunter's Creek Elementary offers students opportunities to further develop their musical talents through Chorus and Orchestra. Chorus provides students with vocal training, ensemble performance experiences, and opportunities to perform for school and community events. Orchestra introduces students to string instruments and develops skills in music reading, performance technique, and ensemble collaboration. These programs allow students to deepen their musical understanding while building confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills.
The Hunter's Creek Elementary Music Program strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can experience success, discover their musical potential, and develop a lasting appreciation for the arts.

The Art Program at Hunter's Creek Elementary School provides students with opportunities to explore, create, and communicate through visual arts while developing creativity, critical thinking, and artistic confidence. Instruction is aligned with the Florida Department of Education's Fine Arts Standards through CPALMS and is designed to foster artistic literacy and appreciation for the visual arts.
Students in grades K–5 participate in comprehensive art instruction that introduces them to the elements of art and principles of design, including line, shape, color, texture, form, space, balance, contrast, pattern, and unity. Through hands-on experiences, students experiment with a variety of artistic media, techniques, and processes while developing their individual artistic voice.
The curriculum is centered on the four artistic processes identified in Florida's Fine Arts Standards: Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting. Students engage in meaningful artistic experiences that encourage them to generate original ideas, develop artistic skills, analyze and interpret works of art, and make connections between art, culture, history, and everyday life.
Throughout the year, students explore a wide range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art. They study the work of diverse artists from various cultures and historical periods, gaining an understanding of how art reflects and influences communities around the world.
The Hunter's Creek Elementary Art Program promotes creativity, self-expression, perseverance, and problem-solving while encouraging students to take creative risks and celebrate individual perspectives. By engaging in the visual arts, students develop skills that support academic success, cultural awareness, and lifelong appreciation for artistic expression.
Our goal is to provide a welcoming and inspiring environment where every student can explore their imagination, build artistic skills, and experience the joy of creating art.
